The AFA is dedicated to the advancement of semi-pro/minor league football throughout the United States and serves as the National Organization for non-professional leagues and teams from coast-to-coast.

The improvement of the coaching profession and the sport of football has always been among the top priorities of the American Football Coaches Association since it was founded in 1922.

There were 43 coaches at the first informal meeting in 1921. The first formal meeting was held Dec. 27, 1921, in New York City at the Hotel Astor, and the Association officially came into being a few weeks later.

Since that time, the Association has grown to more than 10,000 members, including coaches from Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan and Mexico. They share many of the same ideals as the founders Amos Alonzo Stagg and John Heisman among them ?” and have been instrumental in developing the Association into the effective and highly-respected organization that exists today.

Oceania Football Confederation

The founding members of the OFC were Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. (New Caledonia were involved and were very supportive but at this date they are provisional members not having sports autonomy from France.) The OFC's first-ever congress was held two years later and the delegates - responding, to the proposal by both Australia and New Zealand - agreed that Sir William Walkley and Ian McAndrew be appointed chairman and secretary/treasurer respectively. Both were from Australia.

Scottish Football Association

The principal objects of the Association are to promote, foster and develop in all its branches the game of Association football in Scotland, and to take all steps as may be deemed necessary or advisable to prevent infringements of the rules of the game, thus protecting the game from abuses.
