FAMOUS PEOPLE WITH EVERYDAY PROBLEMS
PARKINSON'S DISEASE - EDWARD WINTER

d

Edward Winter (June 3, 1937 - March 8, 2001) was an American actor.

Born in Ventura, California, Winter is perhaps most well-known for his role as the Military Intelligence officer, Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel Flagg on the television series M*A*S*H. Although Winter only appeared in six episodes as Flagg (seven if you count his first appearance as Capt. Halloran, who might have been Flagg under an alias) during the show's 11-year run, he became one of the program's more memorable and popular recurring characters. Another memorable role was as the corrupt Senator Gebhardt in the 1983 movie Porky's II: The Next Day.

Winter was twice nominated for Tony Awards as Best Supporting or Featured Actor (Musical). The first was in 1967 as Herr Ludwig in Cabaret and in 1969 as J.D. Sheldrake in Promises, Promises. Winter died in Woodland Hills, California due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
