Amyl nitrate (also known as butyl nitrate) is a gold colored liquid that usually comes in a bottle or glass vial that need to be “popped” open. Their main use is to increase sexual arousal and alter the perception of time.

Amyl nitrate causes a reduction in blood pressure, coldness of skin, vomiting, nausea, loss of balance and fainting (unconsciousness) can occur. It can also cause a collapse of the entire circulatory system which leads to death. It increases pressure within the eye so if you suffer from glaucoma, your asking for pain.

Long term use can lead to nausea, headaches, increased pulse, decreased blood pressure, dizziness, delirium, impaired respiration and relaxation of involuntary muscles especially the blood vessel walls and the anal sphincter.

Effects

The effects usually take effect immediately and may cause your face to flush, neck and head to sweat. Blood pressure is reduced as the heart rate increases which gives the sensation of a rush. The effects usually ware off within a few minutes.
