Standing One-Legged Calf Raises

Exercise Type:

Anaerobic Exercise (strength training)

Primary Muscles Exercised:

gastrocnemius
soleus

Description:

1) Stand on a calf machine with the balls of one foot on the edge of the platform
2) allow your heel to drop as low as possible while grabbing onto supports to help stabilize yourself

Techinque:

1) raise your body as high as possible pushing from your heel
2) once you are as high as possible, slowly lower yourelf back to your original position
3) repeat lifting for desired number of reps then switch legs
