Seated Calf Raises

Exercise Type:

Anaerobic Exercise (strength training)

Primary Muscles Exercised:

gastrocnemius
soleus

Description:

1) sit on the calf machine with the balls of your feet on the edge of the platform
2) position the thigh pad on your thigh
3) allow your heels to drop as low as comfortably possible

Techinque:

1) raise your heel as high as possible
2) once you are as low as possible, slowly raise your heels back to your original position
3) repeat lifting for desired number of reps
