Push-Ups (on floor)

Exercise Type:

Anaerobic Exercise (strength training)

Primary Muscles Exercised:

pectoralis major (lower chest)
anterior deltoids

Description:

1) lay face down on an exercise mat with both arms up 90 degrees with the floor and hands aligned with your chest
2) put your feet directly behind you and your back stiff
3) raise yourself on the balls of your feet

Techinque:

1) slowly push yourself off the ground using only your arms as high as you can go
2) once at your peak, slowly allow your body using only your arms to go back to your original position
3) repeat until you have achieved your desired amount of repetitions
