Leg Extension

Exercise Type:

Anaerobic Exercise (strength training)

Primary Muscles Exercised:

Vastus lateralis
Rectus femoris
Vastus medialis
Vastus intermedius

Description:

1) Sit on the leg extension machine with the pad resting on your shins
2) if there is a handle, grab it for additional support - if there is a belt, put it around your waist

Techinque:

1) using only your legs, raise the pad until your quadriceps muscles are fully extended in front of you
2) hold the extended position for a few seconds before slowly going back down
3) repeat procedure until you have achieved your desired amount of repetition
