Decline Barbell Bench Press

Exercise Type:

Anaerobic Exercise (strength training)

Primary Muscles Exercised:

pectoralis major (lower chest)
anterior deltoids

Description:

1) secure both feet and ankles at the high end of the decline bench
2) slowly lower yourself and grab the barbell with an overhand grip, arms should be extended as the bar is held over your chest

Techinque:

1) slowly lower the bar until it is just feathers the top of your chest
2) push up until the bar is back in the starting position and be sure not to lock your elbows
3) repeat steps 1-2 until you have achieved your desired amount of repetitions
